Typical uses
With a 60 centimetre plate this machine sits between the light garden models and the heavy road plates, which makes it a good all-round choice for pavement and kerb bases, larger patios, parking areas and trench backfill where the trench is wide enough to take the plate.
Work in layers: spread granular fill 20 to 30 centimetres deep, then make three to four overlapping passes over each layer before adding the next one. Slightly damp sand and crushed stone give the best density, while clay-rich or waterlogged soil is better handled with a trench rammer. Because the plate is reversible, you can compact right up to a wall or kerb and then reverse out without lifting or turning the machine.
